Ingredients
- - 0.5 pound white fish (catfish or tilapia), cut into chunks
- - 2 cups water
- - 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- - 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- - 1 teaspoon sugar
- - 1/2 cup bean sprouts
- - 1/2 tomato, sliced
- - 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
- - 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
- - 1 tablespoon chopped herbs (culantro or Thai basil)
Instructions
- 1.Boil water with lemongrass and tamarind paste for 5 minutes.
- 2.Add fish sauce, sugar, pineapple, and tomato
- 3.simmer for 5 minutes.
- 4.Add fish chunks and cook until just done, about 3–4 minutes.
- 5.Add bean sprouts and herbs. Serve hot.
