A lighter version of the popular Thai basil pork, served with jasmine rice and optional fried egg.

Ingredients

  • - 0.5 pound ground pork
  • - 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • - 1 small chili, chopped (optional)
  • - 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • - 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • - 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • - 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • - 1 cup steamed jasmine rice
  • - 2 eggs (optional for topping)

Instructions

    Heat oil in a pan. Sauté garlic and chili until fragrant.

    Add pork and cook until browned. Stir in fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar.

    Add basil and stir until wilted.

    Top rice with pork mixture and a fried egg if desired.
