Ingredients

  • - 0.5 pound lean pork shoulder, cubed
  • - 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • - 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • - 1 bay leaf
  • - 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • - 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • - 1/4 cup water
  • - 1 teaspoon oil
  • - 1 cup steamed brown rice

Instructions

    In a pot, combine all ingredients except oil and rice. Marinate pork for 15 minutes.

    Simmer the pot over medium heat, covered, for 25 minutes.

    Uncover, increase heat, and cook until sauce is slightly reduced and pork is tender.

    Drizzle with oil, stir gently, and serve with brown rice.
