Dak Bulgogi Recipe (Korean BBQ Chicken)

This Dak Bulgogi recipe originally serves 1, so all ingredients have been scaled up by a factor of 2 to serve exactly 2 people. For example, 6 oz of chicken thigh is increased to 12 oz, and all other ingredients are proportionally doubled.

Ingredients

  • - 4 cloves Garlic
  • - ½ Onion
  • - 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • - 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • - 2 teaspoons Mirin
  • - 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil
  • - 350g of Chicken thigh (boneless, skinless)
  • - Scallions and sesame seeds (For garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1.
Mince the garlic and onions into small, fine pieces. Mix the rest of the marinade ingredients together thoroughly.
  2. 2.
Trim off the excess fat from the chicken thigh and dip it in the marinade. Let the chicken marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to fully seep through.
  3. 3.
Cast Iron on Stovetop – Using a cast iron, cook the chicken for about 3–5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Spread the chicken evenly to ensure uniform cooking.
  4. 4.
Air Fryer – Set the air fryer to 380°F and cook the chicken for about 18–20 minutes. Place the chicken in a single layer and flip halfway through.
  5. 5.
Oven – Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the chicken on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 25–35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. 6.
Grill – Preheat the grill to 325–350°F and cook for about 5–6 minutes on each side.
